Pinot Noir is regarded as an ancient variety of grape. The flavor, texture, and aroma of the wine are sometime too complex for novice wine-drinkers to comprehend. Oregon wineries produce full-bodied and richer Pinot Noirs, but they do not tend to be heavy. These wines also taste fresher, with a higher acidity, and have a more intense fruit flavor than that of their competitors. Another wine which tops the list in term of production in Oregon wineries is the Pinot Gris. This wine usually has a delicate fragrance with a mild floral and light citric flavor.
