Expression 44° Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, OR - 2 Pack

Expressions of love

Now, my sweet darling, I shall compare thee to a bottle of Pinot Noir.

If your significant other is like mine, he or she demands you speak sweet nothings to him or her in an Elizabethan accent every day after work. Which is fine, until you run short of classic sonnets to quote. Well, last night, inspired by two or three or seven glasses of the excellent 2009 Expression 44° Pinot Noir – with its regal combination of pure fruit and sous bois flavors, balanced acidity, and ripe mouthfeel – I actually came up with a few new ways to express your love, which I will offer to you, free of charge:

Thou art the Eola-Amity Hills AVA to the Pinot Noir of my sweet love for thee. This is a pretty high compliment when you consider that this sub-appellation of Willamette Valley (where the grapes of Expression grow) is one of the finest areas for Pinot Noir on the West Coast.

If that throne, upon which thou sits, were a page of periodical known as Wine Spectator, the grade that would accompany thee would be no lower than 91 or 92. To achieve such a feat as this in such a well-regarded publication as Wine Spectator – which the Expression 44° Pinot Noir and the 2009 Expression 44° Pinot Noir Roserock Vineyards pulled off with ease, scoring a 91 and 92 respectively – you’d have to be something real special. Baby.

If thine visage were featured but once upon a prominent deal-a-day website, I would purchase thee, and if it were featured again, I would purchase thee anew (or mayhaps, the second time would be mine own original purchase, if, for whatever reason, I did not visit the site on the date of said feature the first). You don’t always get a second chance on things so when you do, whether it be in love or in a great two pack of Pinot Noir which was featured on Wine.Woot less than two months ago, you better go for it… Or, I think that’s what I mean. I wrote this one quite a few glasses into the evening…
