In 1970, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars was founded when the S.L.V. vineyard was acquired. Just six years later, the 1973 S.L.V. Estate Cabernet Sauvignon defeated First Growth Bordeaux Chateaux to win the highest accolade at the Judgment of Paris blind tasting. This accomplishment cemented the Napa Valley and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars as producers of world-class wines.
